The Teacher Education Program offers individual mentorship and guidance as you earn your teaching certificate. With small class sizes, we offer courses that prepare you for real-world teaching and classroom experience. Our partnerships with Newberry School District and other surrounding school districts offer opportunities to learn in actual classroom settings. All education classes are housed in a remodeled and updated elementary school, with up-to-date technology, well-lit and windowed classrooms, student lounge areas, a children’s library and meeting and student spaces.
Our teacher graduates are in demand and respected throughout the state of South Carolina. We help our students from admission to graduation and provide individual guidance and mentorship throughout the program.
"Newberry College’s Education Department prepared me greatly for my first year of teaching. I was provided with a diverse, well-rounded education that prepared myself and classmates for whatever obstacles were thrown at us. Great people, even better education!"
