Thinking about becoming a teacher, but ready to start your dream job now? Jumpstart your teaching career with an apprenticeship and a paycheck! No degree? No problem!
Apprenticeships, sometimes called teacher residencies, are a new pathway to becoming a teacher. They combine on-the-job training with college coursework to fast-track your teaching career. You don’t even need a college degree to get started!
You’ll spend an entire year in the classroom with a mentor teacher, getting hands-on training while you earn a paycheck! Teacher apprenticeships allow you to learn about what teaching is really like, with expert support.
During your apprenticeship, you will also take college courses through a partner university and work toward your SC teaching certificate. You’ll get to apply what you’re learning right away—so you’ll be career-ready and confident when you get your own classroom.
90 percent of apprentices who complete a Registered Apprenticeship retain employment.
You can find apprenticeship options using the national Apprenticeship Job Finder.
