“Southern Charm” Lives Up to its Name

The state is filled with rich history such as churches, state buildings, and national monuments.

Get Outside

South Carolina is filled with natural wonders. Charleston is the oldest city in the nation (#11 founded 1670), filled with southern culture and architectural history. Learn more about the city's history by visiting The Charleston Museum. Nature lovers can enjoy parks like Congaree National and Table Rock State Park, these parks are family-friendly with options to fish and canoe.

If the mountains are calling your name, check out Falling Waters Bay or The Foothills Trail, these unique mountains have breathtaking views and are a great way to get reacquainted with nature. Also visit the Fort Sumter National Monument, which is the site of the Civil War's initial battle.

Access to Beaches

With over 2,800 miles of coastline in South Carolina, access to the beach is no problem for SC residents. Many neighborhoods are only a few hours from the beaches. Residents have a variety of beaches to choose from such as Isle of Palms/Sullivan’s Island and Myrtle Beach, which are known for family fun.

Get City Life With a Small Town Vibe

Cities are great—with museums, music venues, restaurants, and sports arenas. But city life can be challenging too. You can find the best of the city without all the hassles of bigger places in towns like Charleston, Greenville, and Columbia.

The Good Life

According to “Best Places”, the cost of living in South Carolina is 11.5%. This means great educational opportunities, family fun, and homes all at great prices.
