The South Carolina Department of Education Career and Technical Education (CTE) Work-Based Certification program requires a five-year commitment to the content area and grade level for which you are admitted. Candidates may be evaluated for grades 9-12 and some middle-level certifications.

The CTE Work-Based program was established to enable individuals with specific industry skills, who otherwise do not meet certification requirements, to gain employment in the public schools in a CTE Work-Based approved subject area teaching position based on their education and work experience.
CTE Work-Based certification requires a five year commitment to the content area and grade level for which you are admitted. Candidates may be evaluated for grades 9-12 and some middle level certifications.
