My internships and student teaching experience allowed me to connect in significant ways to the lives of so many young people. The relationships I have built with professors, supervising teachers, and students are really impactful because of the authenticity.

Program Info

The Teacher Education Program (TEP) at Coker University prepares committed, highly-qualified educators who are competent in both content and pedagogy and who are appreciative of their own cultures as well as the cultures of others. The TEP sets high standards for your personal and professional development and aims to work with you to become the best teacher you can be.

Many of their teacher candidates begin field placement internships in local-area classrooms during the second semester of their freshman year, which allows them to apply their academic knowledge in practical settings early in their college careers. Coker University is known for its close-knit community and smaller class sizes. They provide experiences both in and out of the classroom that are focused on active student involvement. Graduates of the program embody the ideals of initiative, ingenuity, and integrity in all aspects of teaching and learning.
