Limestone University is an accredited, independent, coeducational institution, and a non-denominational Christian university that was founded in 1845. A comprehensive university, Limestone’s wide-range of academic offerings are contained within its College of Business, College of Education and Health Professions, and College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.
Limestone offers associate, undergraduate, and master’s degree programs. Limestone’s residential campus is located in Gaffney, SC and its innovative Online Program reaches across the Globe, and also includes Student Service Centers across the state with service centers in Charleston, Columbia, Florence, and Greenville. Including its On-Campus, Online, and Graduate Studies Program students, Limestone is among the largest private universities in South Carolina.
I love our Teacher Ed program because it prepares future educators to impact at least one student's life in their classroom. Call me MiSTER is a program that requires determination and accountability. These programs align perfectly at Limestone University.

Grants, Stipends, Scholarships
The mission of the Call Me MISTER® (Mentors Instructing Students Toward Effective Role Models) Initiative is to increase the pool of available teachers from a broader more diverse background, particularly among the State's lowest-performing elementary schools. Student participants are largely selected from underserved, socio-economically disadvantaged, and educationally at-risk communities.
Academic Dean Scholarship- up to $10,000 awarded based on High School grade point average (GPA) and optional test score (SAT/ACT).
Minimum Requirements: High School GPA 3.0+
High School GPA 3.0+ with SAT 1270+ or ACT 27+: $10,000
High School GPA 3.0+ with SAT 1100-1260 or ACT 24-26: $8,500
High School GPA 3.0+ with no test score or SAT below 1100 or ACT below 24: $6,500
Honors Scholarship: up to $500 awarded to students who are admitted into the Limestone University Honors College. Visit the Honors College page for more information.
Founders Scholarship: up to $5,000 awarded based on High School grade point average (GPA).

Academic Scholarship Opportunities for Transfers: Academic Dean Scholarship: up to $10,000 awarded based on the grade point average (GPA) at the last college attended.

College GPA 3.6 or higher: $10,000
College GPA 3.3-3.59: $8,500
College GPA 3.0-3.29: $6,500

Loan Forgiveness
South Carolina Teachers Loan: Borrowers who received a Teachers Loan, Career Changer Loan, or a PACE Loan may be eligible to have portions of your loan indebtedness forgiven by teaching in certain critical geographic and/or subject areas in the SC public school system. This forgiveness is available only to certified teachers and not to teacher's aides or teacher assistants and only to recipients of the SC Teachers Loan.
Work Study, Working While Still Enrolled
Federal Work Study allows the students to meet a portion of their financial need by working at assigned tasks supervised by faculty, staff, or administrative personnel. Students will be paid each pay period for hours worked and approved by their supervisor. The work-study programs are only offered to Traditional Day Students. The Federal College Work-Study Program is for students demonstrating financial need. Students must perform work to earn this aid. Federal Work-Study is need based and awarded on a first-come, first-serve basis.
