The TeachAOP Alternative Certification Program is a three-year, district-based program that allows you to earn full South Carolina teaching certification while teaching in a local school.

As a participant, you will:

• Teach full-time in your certification area
• Complete certification requirements over three years
• Learn alongside a supportive cohort of fellow new teachers

To be eligible, you must:

• Hold a bachelor’s degree (or higher) in a related subject
• Meet the minimum GPA requirement
• Pass the required subject-area exam (such as the Praxis)
• Be committed to becoming a certified teacher in South Carolina

No prior teaching experience is required—just the qualifications above and a strong desire to teach.
