USC Upstate's experiences are grounded in fieldwork, allowing you to partner with cooperating teachers and students at the South Carolina School for the Deaf and Blind.

For this reason, their program partners with the South Carolina School for the Deaf and Blind, allowing you multiple opportunities to hone your teaching skills.

As a student in the Master of Arts in Teaching Special Education - Visual Impairment Program, you will work collectively with Dr. Tina Herzberg, Professor and Director of the Visual Impairment Program, to schedule your coursework. Additionally, you will work closely with your assigned mentor teacher at the South Carolina School for the Deaf and Blind.

USC Upstate's Master of Arts in Teaching - Visual Impairment works with the South Carolina School for the Deaf and Blind (SCSDB) to provide service learning opportunities for you and professional development opportunities for SCSDB faculty and staff.
